The Importance of The Employee Handbook

Most insurance companies either require or strongly encourage a business/organization have an employee handbook in place.  Do you know why?  Has your current agent talked to you about your employee handbook or implementing one?  When we begin working with a new client, providing an employee handbook template is one of the services we offer.  The handbook is vital because it provides a centralized and organized system to store your company's policies and procedures.  The employee handbook can help greatly reduce your risk because it puts into writing policies and processes that you may have had for years but have gone unwritten.  Your handbook may include a drug and alcohol policy, dress code, attendance policy, sexual harassment policy, etc.

In the event of an employee practices claim, companies who have an employee handbook with strong written policies in place and the policies are followed, generally have favorable results in the court room.  If you have questions about an employee handbook or employers practice liability, please give me a call at (580) 223-7300, or send me an e-mail:
