Have you ever wondered how your health insurance will cover you when on vacation out of the country? If not, you're not alone because most have not and assume their health policy's out-of-network benefit will cover them wherever they go. Although there may be some truth to that, have you considered that you might have to pay all of your expenses and wait to be reimbursed by the insurance company? I'm not sure about you, but most of us don't have that kind of cash laying around, so what do we do? Also, have you considered how you would get home if you were unable to fly on a commercial airplane?
There are solutions to just this type of quandary, such as IMG or International Medical Group, which has an extremely affordable solution. Their products cover medical costs while abroad, re-patronization, evacuation for medical and natural disaster needs... Extremely affordable indeed, I just ran a proposal, 8 days in Mexico including the evacuation rider for $1 million in coverage, no deductible - which came out to $152.
